Happy International Workers’ day!
Actually I don’t really care what kind of holiday it is, I’m just happy to get a day off 🙂
I’ve been quite busy with life these days. I’m writing on my bachelor thesis and currently I’m waiting for my program to finish running. But apparently it’s still going to take a couple of minutes, so I’m going to share a short smoothie recipe with you meanwhile:
200 ml carrot juice
10 frozen strawberries
handful red currants
It’s a smoothie full of vitamin A, B and C!
And because the carrot taste is well mixed with the other flavors, even carrot haters will like it! 🙂
Btw, I went hiking yesterday! We went to the Kampenwand/Steinilingalm which is 1450m above sea level (!). It’s actually a 4 and a half hour hiking route, but because of the melting snow (and lunch break) it nearly took us 6 hours. So for rookies like me it was a pretty tough one!
…but I made it!
I’ve mentioned in another post that I’m recently into grapefruits which is why I’d like to share a juice combination with you that I just tried last week. I mean, I’m a pro grapefruit-devourer now, I enjoy every bitter-sour juicy piece of it. But especially for those of you who are not fond of sour citrus fruits, this is a really easy mixture that makes the first grapefruit experience more relishable:
a few ice cubes
Yeah, I know, very complicated. But just try it! If you are lucky enough to get some sweet strawberries during this season, you’ll definitely enjoy this.
It’s a perfect vitamin cocktail to start the day!
The perks of working from home: you can make a smoothie whenever you want!
5 baby carrots
I’ve started to make some smoothies again, because it’s the season when fruits are getting cheaper, hallelujah!
And also it’s time to get rid of some Winterspeck. So here’s my first spring smoothie:
During this time of the year strawberries are usually not very sweet yet, so I just added a handful of them, plus a couple of physalis to get a nice scent for the smoothie.
I was in Barcelona (again) a couple of weeks ago, and if you have been there, you’ve definitely visited the Mercado de La Boqueria market (you should if you haven’t!):
They have amazing fruit stands there (try the papayas!) and as you can see, they also offer lots of fresh juice cocktails.
My advise, have lots of fruits and juices in mediterranean countries!
I’m going to upload some more pictures of my trip in another post sometime 🙂
So when’s your book season?
Nah, there shouldn’t be a book season, because all seasons are book seasons!
But you know, when it’s starting to get really cold outside, and you get all comfy in your warm bed with a good book (or lots of books) and a cup of tea… yeah, that’s the season right now.
I must confess it’s really hard for me to make some smoothies during winter. I don’t know about you, healthy-tanned-people living in L.A., but I find it really difficult to drink cold things when it’s freezing. I always put some ice in my smoothies and refrigerate them for later, because I like them cool and fresh. But during winter, I really prefer some hot tea.
So here’s the last smoothie I made a couple of weeks ago:
It’s a really really green smoothie, because I put lots of healthy green stuff in it.
Granny Smiths, green pear, lime juice and yes, brocoli. And I think some cale and rucola, too. The rucola was a bit too much, because it has a really strong smell. But the brocoli was fine actually! It was a little bit sour because of the green apples (my favorites) and the limes, but I like it sour, so it was really nice.
But yeah, since then I haven’t had any smoothies, I just have fruits now and then, and lots of tea, well, oh this is so off-topic now.
Back to the books! If you are interested in what I’m currently reading, just follow me on Goodreads!
I just made a creamy smoothie with the following ingredients:
- 1 banana
- 100g physalis
- 4 tbsp natural yogurt
- 4 ice cubes
- 100 ml water
(use a sieve to get rid of the physalis-seeds)
If you are getting bored by the taste of normal banana smoothies this is a great alternative!
And did you know that physalis also has a great nutritional value?
It actually supplies you with vitamin B2, B3, B1, A, C, iron, phosphorus and calcium!
Last week I had some friends over and I decided to make a welcome smoothie for everyone. I wanted to make something fresh and fruity, a drink that everyone will love:
Tuần vừa rồi mình vưa mời bạn bè đến nhà chơi và đã quyết định làm sinh tố cho tất cả mọi người. Mình muốn làm một loại nước uống tươi ngon mà tất cả mọi người đều thích:
The recipe is for about 10 small cups (~ 2 liters) of smoothie and contains the following ingredients:
- 8 Oranges (only juice, using juicer)
- 2 ripe bananas (blender)
- 2 ripe mangos (blender)
- 1 pineapple (only juice, using juicer)
- 500ml cold water
- 10 ice cubes
The party ended with empty cups and happy faces:)
So, success I guess!
I just made a smoothie with these ingredients:
I had some baby spinach leaves left, so I thought I’d make some kind of a green smoothie, but I also wanted to have some berries in it, so I ended up using:
- ~ 30g baby spinach leaves (30g rau bina)
- ~ 50g raspberries (50g mâm xôi)
- ~ 30g redcurrants (30g chi lý)
- ~ 50g cucumber (50g dưa leo)
- 1 avocado (1 quả bơ)
- 1 banana (1 quả chuối)
- 1 tbsp acai powder (1 thìa to bột acai)
- 4 ice cubes (4 viên đá)
- 200ml water (200ml nước lọc)
Well the color turned out to be a little ugly, I guess I needed more veggies to make it green or more berries to make it purple.
But apart from its chocolate color the taste of this smoothie was really good. Of course it doesn’t taste like a fruit smoothie, but if you are not used to drinking vegetable smoothies, I think this berry combination makes it a lot more enjoyable.
it’s been quite a while! I’ve been busy studying for my exams and wasn’t able to post any smoothie recipes lately.
But, I just celebrated my birthday last weekend and I got lots of new smoothie cups and mugs, smoothie books, a fitness tracker and lots of excercise equipments!
And I’m excited to show you this cute mug my friends got me:
Trong thời gian qua mình khá là bận với công việc và thi cử nên không có thời gian để làm một cốc sinh tố nào cả. Nhưng cuối tuần vừa rồi mình mới tổ chức sinh nhật và đã nhận được rất nhiều quà tặng như là cốc thủy tinh, sách công thức sinh tố…
Mình rất háo hức được chia sẻ với các bạn chiếc cốc xinh xắn này:
(And yes, I got beautiful flowers! )
So here is the recipe for my birthday smoothie:
- 1 mango
- 100g raspberries
- 20-30g redcurrants
- 200ml water
- 4 ice cubes
- 1 quả xoài
- 100g mâm xôi
- 20g-30g chi lý
- 200ml nước lọc
- 4 viên đá
Make sure to pass the mixture through a sieve if you don’t like seeds in your smoothie.
And look how creamy it is!
I absolutely love this combination, it’s very fresh & fruity and smells delicious:)
I just made this papaya smoothie and want to share the recipe with you:
4 ice cubes
Put oranges, apple and mango (if it is fibrous) into juicer. (I just got a new juicer!)
Then put the papaya, banana and ice cubes in the blender and add the juice.
Blend until everything is smooth:)
